About MeBackground I was lucky to grow up in the Northeastern part of Massachusetts and loved spending summers at the lakes in Vermont and beaches in Maine. Winter Holidays were "Over the river and through the wood, to Grandfather's house we go" in Barre Vermont. Skiing and ice-skating were our favorite winter sports and the summer was filled with long bike rides and swimming in the ocean. New England is a truly magical place to grow up and the beauty of nature is inspiring, 4 seasons round. I love to create. All my life I have been expressing myself in the arts. Playing piano and drawing as a child; in college I studied the theatre arts and graduated with a BFA in Theatre Design with Lighting Design my main passion. Later, in my 20's, I loved to dance and worked with fiber artists, and designed my own headdresses for a while. In my 30's I discovered floral design and my next passion, gardening. I still love plants, herbs and gardens as much as I love painting now. 4 years ago I picked up a watercolor brush and have not looked back. I was hooked. The texture of the paper and the luscious transparent colors designing the images for me in their own "magic", sometimes, is mesmerizing. It is a challenging painting medium. I love it and can't imagine doing anything else. I am calmer and deeply happier when I am creating with paint and I want to discover and play with all the mediums and art materials now. I am making the plunge and committing to work full time as an artist - I love living the creative life!
